MILK MAKEUP | BLACK TRANS FEMMES CREATE CULTURE

Ballroom has long been the site of creativity. It introduced the world to the art of voguing, created its own vernacular, and created a truly unique style of performance that continues to permeate culture every day. But even as the spotlight on ballroom and its community gets brighter, the stories of the people behind it, particularly the Black trans femmes who have an outsize influence on it, get lost. For #PrideMonth, we partnered with the Artistic Haus of Telfar to honor the impact Black trans femmes have on ballroom and mainstream culture. Listen in as members from the house spotlight the creativity of the ballroom scene, the power of chosen family, and how they continue to set a new standard for the next generation.
