IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month IW379201 Luxury Watch Review

http://www.thewatchbox.com/watches/iwc The IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month is the kind of watch you'd expect from Richard Mille. Or A. Lange & Sohne. Or both combined. There's so much audacity, complexity, functionality, and innovation within this titanium-aluminum alloy case that even 46mm doesn't seem like enough space to contain it. Want a perpetual calendar? You got it. With a digital readout? Done. And it needs to include a flyback chronograph? Why not... IWC has your number, technophiles. More than a mind-warping collection of complications, this automatic-winding IWC Ingenieur integrates IWC's mammoth 474-part caliber 89802 with a natural thematic match that the caliber never found in the Pilot, DaVinci, and Portuguese model lines. As IWC's most explicitly technical timepiece family - remember, this is a company that specializes in sports models - the Ingenieur is a gearhead's natural choice and the obvious vehicle for a movement like the 51-jewel monster featured here. Even better, the sapphire crystal transparency of the unique skeletonized dial creates an impression that draws the user's eye into the heart of the digital calendar mechanism. With an aesthetic reminiscent of the Lange Zeitwerk Luminous, this IWC Ingeneiur Perpetual Digital punches far above its price point.
