Humberto Leon and Carol Lim truly outdid themselves this season with an unforgettable spectacle. The Kenzo F/W 12/13 show was held in a venue that had never been touched before, the largest scientific and medical complex in Paris at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie. The show began with super-model Karlie Kloss emerging from an escalator and onto the makeshift runway. The walls of the three-story building were reminiscent of a modern art exhibition, with neon colored light-fixtures all around. After Kloss emerged in a moss-green look topped with a fur collar and a tiger-logo sweater, 50 more outstanding looks followed suit. There was a forties vibe amidst the space-age décor, with waist-cinching silhouettes, pleated skirts, peplum details, and button up cardigans. However, it was the deep forest-inspired hues, and vine-like and grape prints that truly stole our hearts.
