His debut crime novel Dark Pines was a Daily Telegraph Book of the Year in 2018. His grandfather, who grew his own food, not only inspired Will's lifestyle, but also passed on an appreciation for watches. This Universal Genève, an eBay find a handful of years ago, is his only dress watch – which he says he gets to wear about once a year. He plans on passing it on to his son.
