More Than a Pitch: Football, Safe Space & Clean Water in Bapong | adidas

In Bapong, South Africa, Safe-Hub is now home to a purpose-built football pitch that offers young people a safe and inclusive space to play, learn and thrive – while also collecting and purifying rainwater for the local community. The initiative also includes a small-scale recycling system to support Safe-Hub operations on site. This project was funded by adidas’ 2023 Move for the Planet initiative; where every 10 minutes of activity logged (between June 1st and June 12th) on the adidas running app, adidas donated €1 (up to €1.5) million to support projects in regions affected by extreme weather conditions.
