It was reported that Viola Davis wore one of his pink dresses to Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, that he's already started selling his Fall collection in LA just in time for awards season. Also, there are rumors that the last dress in this show (a long yellow-green halter top sheath) has already been picked up by someone to be worn at the Oscars. Those award season (more like award-WINNING) gowns were mixed with pieces that broke into a new area for Obando, who tried to create something new and vital, mixing lime with brocade, fur with silk and adding mink coats. Fur is back this season (whether real or not) and a leather biker jacket mixed with brocade was inspired by natural vs material elements and motorcross bikers in the dunes of California. The crowd approved.
