IWC GST Chronograph Automatic 3707-06 Luxury Watch Review

Watchuwant is now WatchBox! Subscribe for the best luxury watch content. Old-school IWC style lives in this IWC GST Chronograph Automatic 3707-06 from thewatchbox.com. This sports chronograph from the late great GST lineup combines the king of complications with a day-date display and a stunning black/steel color combination. The IWC GST model line was the 1990s standard-bearer for the Schaffhausen-based watchmaker's utility watch tradition. No-nonsense sports watches with complicated movements were the focus. The GST Chronograph Automatic was the price of the line. The GST Chronograph's rugged stainless steel case frames a classical matte black dial that remains legible despite its abundance of features. In those days, IWC aced the pure-function aspects of watch design, and the dial of the GST Chronograph Automatic demonstrates why; even with two major complications and a tachometer scale, all info jumps forth at a glance. Inside the case, which is water resistant to 120 meters, IWC employs the legendary ETA/Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. This workhorse is as tough as the watch's Teutonic exterior, and the 7750 is among the most serviceable movements in the world of mechanical watches. This power plant will outlast its owner. IWC introduced its brilliant modular bracelet on this generation of GST, and owners continue to reap the benefits.
