Max Mara Resort 2025 takes us on a journey back to the time of Marco Polo, when the Silk Road brought luxurious materials like silk, cashmere, and camel wool to Europe. Creative Director Ian Griffiths chose Venice, a city rich in history and beauty, to showcase this collection, inspired by the city’s role as a powerful crossroads for trade and culture. Venice, 700 years ago, was also a place where women had a unique level of authority, and Griffiths imagines today’s modern woman, "Venetia," as an allegorical figure of wisdom and glory, embarking on a journey as bold and powerful as the great explorer himself.
The Resort 2025 collection is both audacious and refined, combining modern elements with subtle nods to late-medieval fashion, seen in delicate belts, white collars, and dramatic sleeves. Key pieces like the Olympia coat are perfect for transitioning from winter to spring, while the statement jackets and brocade details reflect a fusion of Eastern and Western visual cultures. Max Mara’s iconic coats remain a central focus, with the collection emphasizing the timeless allure of these classic staples.
Griffiths emphasizes that resort shows, unlike traditional fashion weeks, offer a unique opportunity to deepen a brand's identity by showcasing its timeless elegance in extraordinary locations. The Max Mara Resort 2025 collection continues to bridge the gap between heritage and modernity, ensuring that these pieces will remain coveted across generations.
