Jack O’Connell on Judi Dench, Dallas Buyers Club, and The Lion King | Screen Tests | W Magazine

In this Screen Tests interview, actor Jack O'Connell (Unbroken, 300: Rise of an Empire, Skins) talks about why Matthew McConaughey’s character in Dallas Buyer’s Club brings him to tears, why he’s crushing on Maureen O’Hara and Judi Dench, and why he’s looking for a love story like The Lion King in real life. Jack O’Connell wears his own clothes. Transcript Movie makes me cry. The most recent one, to have forged tears from me has been Dallas Buyers Club. Jared's character passes away, and I don't know, I think it was the, when I sense people's doom on screen, and it's done well enough for me to empathize fully. I think Matthew's character experienced some version of doom. I wish I could recall better but. Maureen O'Hara is my cinematic crush. I've got a red chin, I'm speaking as a red chin. Her and Judi Dench. I like an older woman, evidently. Yeah I did a movie with her recently. Tulip Fever it's called. I think Judi fancies me. My favorite love story... This is a hard one, this is a difficult one. No, you know what, Nala and Simba in The Lion King, has to take precedence. I look for that in my real life, what they had. I think so yeah, Elton John in the background and waterfalls and waterfalls. No Judi Dench though. I can't have everything can I?
