The most stunning factor, of course, was the geometric patterns, the 3D imagery, and the bold prints and bright colors. The prints looked so complex, we knew they must have been difficult to create them and place them on fabrics. The other factor--the architectural shapes that made for striking silhouettes (peplums, sharp shoulders) which were created to make a sculptural effect (with some flow thrown in) and also to emphasize embroidery and embellishments, according to the designer. Other effects Katrantzou used to make her statements included prints with one color top to toe, grass, pencils and erasers, clock, typewriters, telephones, and silverware. The pieces were bold and unique, like costumes in a theatre rather than apparel in a ready to wear line, but still wearable.
