At Milan Fashion Week, Luisa Spagnoli’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, FW26, was a study in austere elegance inspired by New York in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Creative director Nicoletta Spagnoli looked to the city’s powerful women, club culture, and art world for a mix of sophistication, assertiveness, and architectural modernity. The collection featured structured daywear with prominent shoulders, high-waisted trousers, miniskirts, and sharp lapels, alongside refined knitwear in mohair and merino. Outerwear included enveloping loden coats, faux fur trenches for day, and long faux mink pieces for evening. Eveningwear reached a dramatic peak with duchesse and silk satin gowns, sculpted shoulders, draped backs, and luxurious black in various textures. Colors were anchored in chocolate, caramel, Manhattan stone grey, cream, midnight black, and forest green, punctuated by flashes of mustard, burgundy, pink, and purple.
