After all, Marc by Marc Jacobs is a diffusion line, aptly defined as a secondary line by a designer with more moderate prices. Thus, we weren't expecting to see anything high-end, but rather something more casual, basic, and sometimes sporty. It's exactly what we got, except that a military meets marching band theme came to the forefront. Marching music in the background, men and women walked forward with marching band hats, while men often wore military coats and officer pants. Women, though not in military attire, were still clad in floral dresses, striped skirts, and tweed with cat eye glasses that seemed like that of officer wives in the 50s. Other fabrics like lame and velvet promenaded through, but they seemed out of character for the dressed down army flavor.
