Vintage in Pills VIVIENNE TAM Fall 2001 New York - Fashion Channel

Vintage in Pills VIVIENNE TAM Fall 2001 New York - Fashion Channel Vivienne Tam’s “East West Techno Fantasy” collection draws on cinematic references to The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, blending Eastern and Western visual codes through a techno-inflected lens. The result moves between grounded wardrobe staples and more experimental, narrative-driven pieces. The strongest looks focus on understated, wearable foundations: paint-drip T-shirts, motorcycle jackets, moleskin trousers, embroidered sweaters, and simple jersey tops that feel direct and unfussy. These pieces form a practical core, balancing the collection’s conceptual ambitions with everyday functionality. Elsewhere, the show shifts into more theatrical territory with oversized fur-trimmed ponchos, plush tiger jackets, cracked-patch skirts, and heavily decorated eveningwear featuring feathers, beads, and lotus motifs. These more elaborate elements introduce a sharper sense of fantasy, though they sit in contrast with the collection’s more restrained direction. Be one of the first to see new videos.
