Is there a Correlation between Decreased Travel + Rising Online Watch Activity? | Market Wrap

Before the weekend kicks off, catch up on the latest industry news with Mike Manjos as he presents this week’s edition of Market Wrap. Whereas summer months are traditionally quiet in the watch world, there’s been a different feeling across WatchBox’s global locations. Summer travel and vacations are largely restricted, and we’re wondering if that correlates with increased action and trading in the marketplace. What are your thoughts? Mike’s exploration of stand-out watches to hit the trading floor this week include a Panerai Submersible 42mm [PAM 682], the Rolex Explorer II with a white dial, and a Tudor Black Bay 58 – the original, with black dial. Do you think there will be a rush to trade this model as watch fans flock to the new blue dial that just hit the scene? For our main topic today, Mike breaks down what’s rising and falling across the secondary market, citing spikes in value in anticipation of new releases from major brands. He also looks ahead to this weekend’s Hong Kong auctions at Phillips, Sotheby’s and Christie’s, where several minute repeaters will hit the auction block – including many exceptional models from Patek Philippe. This episode of Market Wrap concludes with a number of watches we are looking to acquire for WatchBox's inventory, including unique tourbillons from A. Lange & Söhne, Rolex Submariners in all iterations, and uber-light aluminum sport models from F.P. Journe. Make sure to watch and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! 00:0
