Created in 1953 after the first ascent of Mount Everest, the Explorer is emblematic of the close ties between Rolex and exploration. Available in Oystersteel or in a yellow Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and yellow gold), the Explorer features a 36mm Oyster case that echoes the size of the original model. The black lacquer dial bears the index hour markers and emblematic 3, 6 and 9 numerals that are the cornerstones of the model's personality and features an optimized Chromalight display.
