The culture and style of Belgian football | The Home End | Episode 1

In the first episode of our mini-documentary “The Home End”, we travel to Brussels to explore Belgium’s football culture through the eyes of the fans. From the meaning of “Zwanze” to the influence of music, fashion and street culture, this mini-documentary looks at how football shapes cultural expression in Belgium. Known for its surrealist art, disruptive fashion, electronic music and the iconic Red Devils, Belgium has long punched above its weight on the global cultural stage. In The Home End, we uncover how that same creative spirit lives in the stands, the streets and the next generation of football fans. That’s The Home End! A two-part documentary series explores the cultures that exist beyond the pitch and the fans who bring them to life. From Belgium to Germany, we meet the people shaping football’s identity through music, fashion, community and matchday rituals. Through local stories and cultural traditions, The Home End uncovers how football fandom reflects the spirit of a nation and the communities that make the game what it is. From the stands to the streets, football culture inspires more than the game itself.
