Stella McCartney Menswear Autumn/Winter 17 Film

Stella McCartney presents her first Autumn Winter 2017 menswear collection in a short film directed by Sean Ellis featuring Cillian Murphy. Following the director and actor’s 2016 film project, Anthropoid, the pair collaborate for the first time with Stella McCartney to launch her new Autumn Winter 2017 collection. In the film Ellis envisions Murphy as the subversive ‘Stella Man’ surrounded in the natural and scenic woodland area in Buckinghamshire. The environment provides an encompassing visual backdrop of the character’s struggle between the echoes of his past and what feels like the present. The story takes us through his journey sparked from a memory that helps him to find his way back to a symbolic wood cabin in search of answers. Music for the film was specially created by Paul McCartney. The track is inspired by the distortion of the character’s journey between the now and the before. Accompanying the striking audio is a visual lighting by Paris based Nonotak who’s Horizon V.2 installation creates a dramatic backdrop to lead into memory flashes.
