A global championship that marries technological innovation and human performance, SailGP returns for its eagerly-anticipated Season 2. Rolex is proud to have supported this sporting league, which seeks to redefine sailing, since its launch in 2019. Eight teams from eight countries will contest as many events over an 11-month season, which commences in Bermuda on 24-25 April and closes in San Francisco with the dramatic Grand Final in March 2022. The evenly-matched, one design,15-metre (49.2 foot), 2,400 kg F50 catamarans are at the vanguard of sailing technology and capable of speeds that exceed 50 knots (nearly 100 km/h or 60 mph). Mastering these complex, cutting-edge craft is the responsibility of the five-strong crew made up of the world’s leading professional sailing talent. Helms include Rolex Testimonee and four-time Rolex World Sailor of the Year Sir Ben Ainslie and fellow Olympic gold medallist, Tom Slingsby, the 2010 Rolex World Sailor of the Year. The competition is breathtaking, intense and an exacting test of teamwork and athleticism. Discover more https://on.rolex.com/3d1ZyhE
