The designer strived to bring joy, pleasure and hope using his uncompromising style, and craftsmanship. He used contrasting textures and materials: guipure, silk, lace, tweed, fringe, smooth and knobby, matte and shiny, soft and structured. He also employs colors and prints inspired by contemporary paintings and even one of his mother’s Japanese kimonos.
