Justice for Grassy Narrows: Maka Fobister

Maka Fobister (a Grassy Narrows youth) describes what it means to be from Grassy Narrows and what the road to healing looks like. Mercury poisoning in Grassy Narrows has now affected three generations with deadly consequences-especially for youth. Between 1962 and 1970, 9,000 kg of untreated mercury was dumped into the river system of the Asubpeeschoseewagong First Nation (Grassy Narrows)-resulting in one of Canada's worst environmental disasters. Over 50 years later, justice has yet to be served. Hear stories from community members and learn how you can help.
