OCEAN KIANA Spotlight Spring 2024 Paris - Full Show

OCEAN KIANA Spotlight Spring 2024 Paris - Full Show Ocean Kiana, an indigenous artist from Northwestern Ontario, uses fashion to tell stories. Raised by her family's matriarchs, Kiana now lives in Toronto, Canada, where she has created designs for the Toronto Raptors, OVO, and Manitobah Mukluk's. Her textiles draw on Anishinaabe patterns and motifs, inspired by the land and waters her people have inhabited for millennia north of Lake Superior. Through fashion, Kiana hopes to share Indigenous stories. Her latest collection, Love on the Brain, was inspired by the deep red hue that has permeated her work throughout the years. Kiana reflected on the people she loves and shows love to every day, and felt inspired to create a collection of deep reds, pinks, and contrasting black and white. The black and white pieces represent her appreciation for loved ones who have passed on.
