At first glance, it’s the 18k rose gold and titanium skulls and bones that makes the biggest impression with the Jacob & Co. Astronomia Skull. However, it’s the details of this one-of-a-kind timepiece that makes it a stunning piece of high horology. The layered crypt-like scene of three-dimensional skulls and bones took skilled metalsmiths 200 hours to create over a 6 month period. The Jacob & Co. Astronomia movement with the tourbillon, the magnesium globe and the 1-carat diamond featuring the exclusive Jacob Cut of 288 facets certainly standout. However, a closer look reveals that the plates and bridges are hand angled and polished to a shine. In addition, the 18k rose gold lugs are paved with 80 baguette diamonds. Then there’s the Jacob & Co. exclusive blued hands for the hour-and-minute subdial positioned at 4 o’clock. Nothing has been left to chance in the creation of this expression of high horology. #jacobandco #inpsiredbytheimpossible #hautehorology
