BALENCIAGA Best Looks Fall 2024 Haute Couture Paris - Fashion Channel This show marks Demna's fourth haute couture collection for Balenciaga and is his most subversive yet. He challenged traditional couture by rejecting formality and embracing materials from his past decade of work, such as denim, leather, tracksuits, technical outerwear, and hoodies. These were bonded to a satin scuba material, enabling him to achieve his sculpted forms while maintaining Balenciaga's signature 3/4-length sleeves, cocoon shapes, and elaborate headwear. Demna aimed to fuse his personal design vocabulary with Cristóbal Balenciaga’s legacy, creating pieces like a sculpted oversized gray tee with slouchy jeans that appeared to have a jacket tied around the waist, paired with a saucer hat from his couture debut. Other highlights included black puffers, gray sweatsuits, and lumberjack shirts, all with curving sleeves and perma-scrunched looks, paired with saucer hats and witchy boots.
