PATRICK McDOWELL Spring 2026 Best Looks London - Fashion Channel Patrick McDowell presented a ready-to-wear collection at London’s Battersea Power Station, marking a shift from a primarily bespoke practice to a more developed wardrobe offering. The show followed the designer’s receipt of the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, which enabled the expansion of the studio and the realization of a collection planned the previous year. Titled The Lancashire Rose, the collection drew on McDowell’s family history, specifically the life of their grandmother Kathleen, who grew up in a Lancashire mining and milling community. References to her wedding and dressmaking practices appeared throughout. Chrysanthemums—her bridal flowers—were translated into vintage brooches pinned to bustiers and organza floral appliqués. Circularity, a core principle of the brand, was reflected in the use of repurposed materials and inherited methods of making. The collection introduced accessories developed in collaboration with Aspinal of London, including bags, scarves, and slippers, designed as coordinated sets. Each piece was accompanied by a digital product passport via Certilogo. Garments emphasized statement silhouettes and craftsmanship, with key looks including a voluminous skirt constructed from vintage trench coats, a silk gray skirt suit with black organza floral appliqué, and a gold taffeta jacket paired with a matching bag.
