Tonka Beans | LUSH Buying Story

Learn about the communities who collect the tonka beans used within many of our products. Collected by men, women and children, tonka beans are traditionally used as a form of medicine, throughout these communities. Sustainable harvest of the tonka beans generates income for Kayapó communities, which contributes to the enhancement their quality of life as well as enabling them to help protect their forest home against external economic forces bent on destruction: mining, logging and cattle ranching.
