The Jacob & Co. Dragon Craftsmanship Video

Creating the colorful, slithering gold dragon for the Astronomia Solar Baguette Tiger & Dragon took about three months. It begins with a detailed drawing that then becomes a computer-aided (CAD) rendering because it must fit properly in the dial among the Astronomia vertical movement and the tiger. The gold cast is hand-painted with acrylic paint. Because of its immense size and complexity, the gold sculpture is separated into parts and the individual pieces are reconstructed inside the dial.
