IWC engineers push the boundaries of fine watchmaking once again, with the new Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL (Ref. IW357701) in Ceratanium™. For the first time, our innovative SPRINg-PROTECT system is used to cushion a tourbillon – a delicate mechanism particularly vulnerable to damage by shocks. Skeletonized to reduce its overall mass, the complex 82915-calibre movement with a flying minute tourbillon is cushioned by a completely re-designed cantilever spring. This groundbreaking achievement by our experimental engineering division XPL results in highly technical sports watch, proven to survive impacts in excess of 10,000 g. #IWCwatches | #IWCpilot
