Today we’re taking a closer look at the latest versions of Rolex’s GMT-Master ii — the reference 126711 CHNR. You guys may remember from our extensive coverage from Baselworld 2018, that the GMT-Master II took center stage in the Rolex booth. Bezel This is the first time we’ve seen Rolex make a two-tone GMT with a bi-color Cerachrom ceramic bezel in black and brown,and it looks sharp. The only thing worth noting is that though many have been quick to dub this new reference a reincarnation of the “Root Beer GMT”, a quick glance at an earlier reference 16753 Root Beer GMT-Master model will reveal that this new model is a bit aligned with the same nickname. Case All told the modifications to the case of this new GMT-Master II are faint to say the least. Its inner casing required some faint fine tuning in order to fit its new caliber but overall the case of this new model is nearly identical its previous GMT-Master II models. It remains 40mm in diameter, features a screw-down crown, and is rated to 100m of water resistance. Bracelet Much like its case, not much has changed with the Oyster bracelet.
