It is often overlooked that posture plays a direct role in maintaining healthy hair. When the head is tilted forward for long hours during laptop or mobile use, or while slouching at a desk, the muscles of the neck become stiff. This stiffness restricts the blood vessels that supply the scalp with oxygen and nutrients. As a result, reduced circulation weakens the hair follicles, leading to hair fall and thinning.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰: Forward head posture compresses blood vessels, thereby reducing blood supply to the scalp.
𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞: For every inch the head tilts forward, an additional 4–15 kg of weight is exerted on the neck and spine.
𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬: Poor posture increases cortisol and DHT activity, both of which are responsible for weakening hair follicles.

Clinical Biomechanics (2016) showed that forward head posture decreases cervical blood flow, weakening nerves (C2, C3) that support hair growth.
Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (2019) confirmed the link between poor posture and hair thinning.
Harvard studies revealed that excess cortisol shortens the hair growth phase.
