This episode of Style Mynt pays a tribute to the grandness of the saree by exploring the latest blouse designs and saree styles. Watch stylist Shelly share five different ways to drape the saree to look trendy as well as traditional.
Style 1: The Chotu Saree -
Popularised by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the Chotu Saree is draped a little above the ankles and the pallu is kept short. You can style this look with stacked anklets and a pair of Kolhapuris to add a beautiful rustic effect.
Style 2: Sarong Sari with Top -
If you want to add a dash of glam to your saree, try pairing it with a fitted top. Along with good coverage, this also provides a chic look, as compared to a traditional blouse. Opt for a fitted turtleneck top this season and drape the saree like a sarong with pleats. The statement neck piece and skirt like effect of the saree make it perfect for evening sourires.
Style 3: Sari with a shirt -
For weddings and cocktail parties, pair your saree with a shirt instead of a blouse and add a touch of androgyny to your look!
Style 4: Saree with a jacket -
Pair your saree with a monotone jacket for a perfect corporate look, and finish it up with an oversized gold-toned watch.
Style 5: Knotted pallu saree -
Add a few knots to the front of the pallu, and pair it up with either stag bangles or large earrings. Try this look to spice up even the most boring saree design.
