QUEERING: Musician Larry B exhibits steps to self-acceptance with 'I Gotta Pick Myself Up'

The verb form of the word queer, 'Queering' looks for places where gender, sexuality, masculinity and femininity can be challenged and questioned. Our immersive live stream, 12 and 13 July 2018, saw individuals from all walks use their art, talent and physicality to both show and tell us what the term means to them. ‘The transition and performance are linked; they both happen. The act is like a journey you have to take: I don’t wake up like this in the morning.’ Larry B transforms himself into a woman before performing a live piano version of ‘I Gotta Pick Myself Up’ from his critically acclaimed EP ‘5 Sad Songs’. Larry's experience of transformation, exhibits what the steps it takes for him to feel full self acceptance.
