'Drawing is very cathartic, almost anarchic; the performance is about the movement of attacking the canvas and going to a place within myself that feels safe.' Charles Jeffrey’s performance shows the process behind an illustration which tackles the Scottish myth of ‘the other’ in relation the gateway to ‘heaven’. Jeffrey wants to highlight that safe spaces for queer people can come from their own imaginations and from their own hand, via makeup or their artwork.
