Inside Prada Home Chawan Cabinet by Theaster Gates

An inside look at Prada Home Chawan Cabinet by Theaster Gates, presented in Milan. A collection of editioned ceramic vessels and ceremonial forms, created for gathering, ritual, and lived experience. The space unfolds as an environment shaped by ceramic vessels and sculptural forms, where the gestures of everyday life come into focus. From the threshold to the inner courtyard, the installation brings together a sequence of rooms, a tea house, and a landscape of materials designed for gathering and exchange. Tea ceremonies led by a Japanese tea master, alongside sound, texture, and gesture, define an experience where objects are not simply observed, but lived with over time.
