Prada Spring/Summer 2026 | Tuba Avalon on “I, I, I, I am…”

The conversation continues for Spring/Summer 2026 with American artist Jordan Wolfson, shifting focus from the construction of the image to the construction of the self. The Prada Spring/Summer 2026 collection is reconsidered through a second iteration, where familiar faces are placed in unfamiliar contexts. Tuba Avalon addresses the work featuring Prada Ambassadors Hunter Schafer, Nicholas Hoult, Damson Idris, Carey Mulligan, with John Glacier, Levon Hawke and Liu Wen. The cast sits alone, encountering imagined creatures: playful, undefined, and not fully explainable. Repeating a single phrase, “I, I, I, I am…”, the work becomes an open statement, an attempt to define identity that never concludes. Meaning remains unresolved, shaped through repetition, perception, and presence. Between reality and imagination, identity shifts, disappears, and reappears. The work does not offer answers but opens questions - exploring how we perform, how we are seen, and how we understand ourselves.
